Me and my group spent the past month working on a project for my multi-media journalism class. We decided to cover a revival at a church in Aubrey, TX that involved a Baptist and Non-denominational church that were also a white and black church respectively. It was a really interesting experience both at the revival and creating a flash project that contained a video, photo, and text story. I have to say there were a lot of bumps and issues along the way but I’m pretty satisfied with the overall project. It was a good learning experience and it also helped me to work with a group because i typically don’t like group project but in the professional world I’m sure I’ll be working in a group on a lot of stories that I’ll have to produce for web.
On a different note, the semester is about over and I am definitely looking forward to the break to recharge and recuperate from this semester. It has definitely been a long one but a very educational one. I learned a lot about multi-media this semester, I especially enjoyed learning how to shoot video. I really enjoy the medium and plan on pursuing it further. At first it was hard to adjust to put I think I have the basic idea of it and now I just need more practice. I also learned the basics of flash which I plan to use and eventually put up my own site.
Here is the link to my group’s project. Enjoy!
